self care

In our modern world, there’s a widget and an app for most things. Often we spend so much time on our phones that we should excercise a bit of self care by taking a break from it! However, this is easier said than done.

Fortunately, there are apps created specifically to help you access self care tools and resources. These can help you develop self care practices that work seamlessly into your day. This article will cover a number of resources with links to give you options.

So, let’s begin with exploring what self care looks like in the digital age:

  • Headspacehttps://www.headspace.com/ An app with the message of being kind to your mind, focused on helping its users develop mindfulness and awareness through a few minutes a day in the app.
    • Tip: They have a free trial period so you can try it risk free without having to pay for this app.
  • Five minute journal: https://www.intelligentchange.com/pages/five-minute-journal-app Journaling has many documented benefits in helping process thoughts, emotions and events. You could even go back and track how far you’ve come with NDIS and aged care systems, or track your goals! This app helps you capture simple moments from your day. A core component of this app is setting your day up for success and reflecting on how your day went.
  • Fitbithttps://www.fitbit.com/au/home activity trackers and smartwatch apps are available to help monitor your activity levels. These apps, and even your phone can be set up to remind you to get up and moving every hour.
  • Loop+https://www.loopplus.com.au/ This app is an activity monitor for wheelchair users. Even better, it’s an Australian company!
